The Ubuntu team announced the launch of the final Beta version of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS through the mailing list and announced that the stable version will be released on April 23, 2020. Although it is the final Beta version, it is still in the testing stage after all, so it is not recommended to use it on a production environment or main computer.
20.04 LTS is code-named “Focal Fossa” and will receive 5 years of technical support until April 2025. The Beta version provides image files for desktop, server, and cloud computing products, as well as Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu
Budgie, UbuntuKylin, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Studio, and Xubuntu flavored versions.
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Beta has upgraded most core software packages and toolchains to new versions, including the Linux 5.4 kernel in use.
