Ubuntu Touch installer supports OnePlus 3 and Sony Xperia X

1 min read

Although Canonical officially abandoned the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system, third-party developers are still actively providing regular OTA updates and feature improvements. Today, UBports developer, Marius Gripsgard announced on Twitter that the much-anticipated Ubuntu Touch installer already supports more mobile devices, including OnePlus 3 or Sony Xperia X.

“You can now install arm64 Ubuntu touch on Oneplus 3 and  Sony Xperia x with the installer,” said Marius Gripsgard. “You must be aware that It’s still not ready, it has a few bugs, and the image is only available on the edge channel (which means it can break at any time for any reason).”

Finally, Ubuntu Touch OTA-12 will be released with Unity8 and Mir 1.x display services. As for the current OTA-11 update, it mainly brings improvements in keyboards and browsers.
