According to Wccftech, Sony appears to have struck an agreement with Konami, including remastered versions of Metal Gear Solid 3, Silent Hill 2, and even a new Castlevania game, all of which will be timed exclusives for the PlayStation platform. The Metal Gear Solid 3 remaster is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, potentially as a form of exclusive.

    Silent Hill 2

It is understood that the development of Metal Gear Solid 3 may be handled by Virtuos, whose client list now includes Konami. Furthermore, developers have hinted on LinkedIn that they are working on the remastering of a “AAA action-adventure game.”

Silent Hill 2 remake is being developed by Bloober Team, featuring revamped AI, cutscenes, decipherable content, and multiple new endings. As early as June 2021, Bloober Team announced a strategic partnership with Konami, encompassing collaborative game development and technological exchanges. The original game was released on PlayStation 2 in 2001 as the second installment in the series. This horror-adventure title captured the attention of numerous players at the time, garnering widespread acclaim and propelling the Silent Hill series to global prominence.

  • Rumor: KONAMI has launched multiple projects around Silent Hill

Recently, there has been more and more news related to “Silent Hill”, especially the leaked screenshots that seem to confirm the authenticity of the rumors. KONAMI has several plans around the IP, including remastered games, sequels, and story-focused episodic games, which are handled by studios around the world.

A person familiar with the matter said that Konami will launch a remake of “Silent Hill 2”, developed by the Bloober Team, which includes remade AI, cutscenes, decrypted content, and multiple new endings. And the PlayStation platform is likely to be exclusive for a limited time. In June 2021, Bloober Team announced that it had signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Konami, including co-development of games and technical exchanges.
The original “Silent Hill 2” was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001 and was the second work in the series. This horror adventure game attracted the attention of many players at the time and received a lot of praise, making the Silent Hill series famous all over the world. The success of the “Silent Hill” series also attracted the attention of film and television investors, and the film of the same name “Silent Hill” was also released in 2006.

In addition to the remake of the classic “Silent Hill 2”, VGC said that Konami is also developing a sequel to the Silent Hill series, and it is unclear who is leading the project. There are rumors that a studio in Japan is in charge, but there is little information about it, and further confirmation has yet to be made. In addition, Konami is also looking for a suitable developer for the “Silent Hill” short story series of games and has already approached multiple studios.
  • The “PES” series was renamed “eFootball”, Free and cross-platform

Players who like to play football games know that over the years it has been mainly controlled by two series, one is EA’s FIFA series, and the other is KONAMI’s PES series. Players familiar with the KONAMI’s PES will probably understand that the “PES” series has a history of 25 years and has two different names. The Japanese version is called “Winning Eleven” and the European version is called Pro Evolution Soccer (referred to as PES), but later gradually adopted the name of the European version.

However, the “PES” series will become history in the future. The future is neither “Winning Eleven” nor “Pro Evolution Soccer”. Konami announced that the “PES” series will be renamed “eFootball”, and the game will be converted to F2P free mode. It will become a free game with only a digital version. It is officially called the next-generation free football simulation game platform.

“eFootball” will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC (Win 10 and Steam), iOS, and Android this fall. The game content will be updated regularly every year. As time goes by, more teams, game modes, and cross-platform connections will be added, but players on mobile platforms need to use a handle to play against players on other platforms. The new game is also the first work in the series made with Unreal Engine, and a new motion matching system has been added. Konami hopes that the new game will also perform well on the mobile platform.

In the official trailer for “eFootball” released by Konami, there are Messi, Neymar, Iniesta, and Pique. A day ago, Konami just announced that Neymar has become an ambassador for KONAMI football games including “eFootball”.
