EVGA launches SuperNOVA 1000G/850G XC PSU series

EVGA has announced the launch of the SuperNOVA XC series power supply units (PSUs), the inaugural products in the series boasting rated power levels of 850W and 1000W. These are the company’s first PSUs that support the ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 standards, thus providing the necessary energy for the latest generation of gaming PCs.

The SuperNOVA XC series PSUs come equipped with a half-bridge LLC resonant converter and DC-DC structure modules, ensuring stringent voltage regulation and exceptionally low ripple and noise levels. The units have been designed to swiftly respond to sudden power demands, able to temporarily cope with 200% of the total instant power and 300% of the graphics card’s instant power, thereby ensuring a safe and sufficient power supply to the system and graphics card at all times. These new products have received an 80 PLUS Gold certification, signifying their conversion efficiency of 90% (115VAC) / 92% (220VAC~240VAC) or higher under typical loads. Each unit features a native 12VHPWR interface capable of providing a 600W power output. Coupled with a fully modular design, this can mitigate clutter within the chassis and enhance airflow.

Much like several comparable products, the SuperNOVA XC series PSUs incorporate a multitude of circuit protection features, including overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), short-circuit protection (SCP), undervoltage protection (UVP), over power protection (OPP), and over temperature protection (OTP) to ensure safe hardware operation. Due to the built-in PWM-controlled FDB fan, noise is reduced through precise fan curve control. In conjunction with the EVGA ECO intelligent control system, fan noise during medium to low loads can be eradicated.

EVGA has also disclosed the pricing for the SuperNOVA XC series PSUs. The 850W and 1000W models are priced at $169.99 and $199.99 respectively.
