German-Polish National Arrested for Inciting Attacks on Politicians via Darknet Platform
A man suspected of inciting attacks against German politicians and public officials has been arrested on charges of terrorism and financing acts of physical violence. According to Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect is a dual German-Polish national, identified in accordance with national data-protection laws only as Martin S.
Investigators allege that since June he had been anonymously operating a darknet platform where he published lists of politicians and civil servants, designating them as “targets,” posted instructions for manufacturing explosives, and urged users to carry out attacks. The site reportedly also contained personal data of potential victims, along with manifestos calling for their elimination.
Prosecutors maintain that Martin S. not only disseminated such materials but also attempted to solicit cryptocurrency donations to be used as bounties for contract killings. The funds, they believe, were intended to finance assaults on government representatives and other public figures.
