AMD Ryzen 3 5100 processor leaks

Though AMD has already unveiled its Ryzen 7000 series processors, based on the Zen 4 architecture, the performance of products founded on the Zen 3 architecture remains commendable, persisting as one of the premier choices within the gaming sector. However, on desktop platforms, a portion of the Ryzen 5000 series processors are solely catered to the OEM realm.

AMD has introduced many processors for the AM4 platform, with the majority targeting the mainstream and entry-level markets. Within this lineup, three make use of the Zen 3 architecture chip, codenamed “Cezanne”: namely the Ryzen 7 5700, Ryzen 5 5500, and Ryzen 3 5100, all devoid of an integrated GPU. Apart from the Ryzen 5 5500, the remaining two have yet to appear in retail markets, and AMD hasn’t even listed their specifications on the official website.

Recently, Twitter user @momomo_us discovered the specifications of the Ryzen 7 5700 and Ryzen 3 5100 via motherboard manufacturers’ support lists. The former had already surfaced previously, and now the latter’s specifications have also been revealed. It can be regarded as a version of the Ryzen 3 5300G without integrated graphics.

The AMD Ryzen 3 5100 and Ryzen 3 5300G are fundamentally the same, offering 4 cores and 8 threads, an 8MB L3 cache, and boosted frequencies of 4.2 GHz, all crafted using a 7nm process and both are A0 stepping. However, the former has a base frequency of 3.8 GHz, while the latter is slightly higher, reaching 4.0 GHz. As a matter of fact, the Ryzen 3 5300G is not directly available on retail markets either and can only be encountered on e-commerce platforms.

In past years, AMD seems to have neglected the entry-level market, with a somewhat disjointed and limited choice product line. The current lowest-positioned offering for the new-generation AM5 platform is the Ryzen 5 7600, targeted at mainstream gamers, while the current entry-level offering is the somewhat antiquated Ryzen 3 4100. In contrast, Intel’s product lineup is complete, with an astutely arranged variety of options.

It has been reported that, in an attempt to enrich market options, AMD may introduce the Ryzen 3 5100 to the retail market.
