YouTube hopes to use artificial intelligence technology to make video creation easier

At the recent “Made On YouTube” event, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan unveiled a suite of tools imbued with artificial intelligence, aiming to simplify and enhance the efficiency of video creation.

Mohan expressed aspirations to harness artificial intelligence to facilitate an effortless video creation process and to amplify content generation through automated AI constructs. With this update, YouTube’s music library will employ AI technology, allowing users to receive music recommendations apt for their video content by simply describing it. Additionally, users will be offered licenses at affordable rates, with this feature poised for a 2024 debut.

As for YouTube Shorts, the platform will introduce a “Dream Screen” functionality, enabling users to incorporate AI-generated videos and images into their short films. Through succinct textual descriptions, swift content generation is promised. This feature is slated for preliminary testing with a select group of creators and is anticipated for official release in 2024.

Addressing the need to captivate audiences across varied linguistic landscapes, YouTube will introduce “Aloud,” an AI-powered dubbing tool. This will empower users to rapidly generate voiceovers in multiple languages, with the option for edits prior to the video’s official release. This tool, too, is targeted for a 2024 launch.

Furthermore, YouTube will roll out the “YouTube Create App,” a nimble video-editing application designed for swift modifications via mobile devices. The app encompasses primary editing tools, voiceover capabilities, and automatic subtitle generation. Users can also leverage special effects, transitions, and copyright-free music, crafting videos in a manner reminiscent of applications like iMovie.

Presently, the YouTube Create App is set to undergo beta testing in countries and regions including South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. The timeline for its official version’s release remains undetermined.
