Solidigm Introduces D5-P5336 Data Center SSD

Solidigm announces the debut of its D5-P5430 data center SSD. Optimized for operation from edge to core, it presents a scalable and cost-efficient solution well-suited for data and read-intensive workloads.

Crafted specifically to deliver equivalent stellar performance within data centers or on-site, the D5-P5336 SSD can effectively expedite a wealth of data in widely adopted read/data-intensive workloads. It offers a read performance that is 2.3 times faster than certain TLC SSDs, with reading speeds almost 600 times swifter than leading SAS HDDs. Solidigm states that if clients require swift and efficient storage and access to a voluminous amount of data, the D5-P5336 fulfills such requirements. With a maximum capacity reaching 61.44TB, it can store up to 2PB in a 1U chassis.

The D5-P5430 utilizes 192-layer QLC NAND flash memory, with maximum sequential read speeds of 7000 MB/s and write speeds of 3300 MB/s. It offers products in U.2, E1.L, and E3.S specifications, including:

  • U.2 15mm 7.68TB – 61.44TB
    E1.L 9.5mm 15.36TB – 61.44TB
    E3.S 7.5mm 7.68TB – 30.72TB

Greg Matson, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing at Solidigm, indicates that workloads such as artificial intelligence and 5G are swiftly reshaping the storage landscape. Enterprises need to introduce cost-effective storage across a broader range, efficiently store massive data sets, and access data rapidly. The D5-P5336 delivers on all three functions, encapsulating value, density, and performance. With its QLC NAND flash memory, the D5-P5336 offers excellent economy, storing twice the capacity of a TLC SSD while matching its speed.

Solidigm initially provides the E1.L specification product with a maximum capacity of 30.72TB. Later this year, they will introduce products in U.2 and E3.S specifications, extending the E1.L specification to 61.44TB.
