Matrox Introduces LUMA Series Graphics Cards

Matrox announced the launch of a new LUMA series of graphics cards based on Intel’s Xe GPU. The first batch of products are all single-slot thickness, with three models, namely the fanless LUMA A310, the single-fan half-height LUMA A310F, and the single-fan full-height LUMA A380.

Matrox said that the development of the LUMA series of graphics cards was to meet the large demand for multiple-screen display output in the mainstream graphics market and to balance size, reliability, and performance in different application scenarios. The new LUMA series of graphics cards are mainly aimed at fields such as medical, digital signage, control room, video wall, and industrial market, and applications that require high reliability and embedded PC.

The Xe A310 and A380 are both GPUs built on the Xe HPG architecture, manufactured using TSMC’s N6 process, and respectively equipped with 6 and 8 Xe cores, as well as 4GB and 6GB of GDDR6 memory. The memory bit width is 64-bit and 96-bit respectively. All three graphics cards do not have external power supply interfaces. The LUMA A380 has a card power consumption of 75W, and the other two are 30W.

All three LUMA series graphics cards support four display outputs, of which LUMA A380 has four standard DisplayPort interfaces, and the other two have mini DisplayPort interfaces. They can drive four 5K@60Hz displays at the same time, or two 8K@60Hz / 5K@120Hz displays. They are compatible with the latest graphics features and support DirectX 12 Ultimate, OpenGL 4.6, Vulkan 1.3, and OpenCL 3.0, as well as Intel’s oneAPI for computing tasks and Intel’s distribution OpenVINO toolkit for artificial intelligence development. The built-in decoder has a first-class encoding and decoding engine that supports formats such as H.264, H.265, VP9, and AV1.

Matrox’s close cooperation with Intel enables the LUMA series of graphics cards to customize some features to meet the needs of specific markets, providing some quality that other products cannot provide. The life cycle of all LUMA series graphics cards is 7 years, with dedicated customer support. The default warranty period is three years, and users can choose to extend the warranty period. In addition, the LUMA series of graphics cards are equipped with Matrox PowerDesk desktop management software, which can easily configure and manage multi-display settings.
