GIGABYTE Z790 motherboards officially debuts

Gigabyte announced the launch of a new generation of Z790 motherboards that support Intel’s 12th-generation Core (Alder Lake) and 13th-generation Core (Raptor Lake) processors. Gigabyte said that the first batch of Z790 motherboards belongs to its high-end AORUS series models, which will focus on games.

The AORUS series product lineup brought by Gigabyte this time includes Z790 AORUS XTREME, Z790 AORUS MASTER, Z790 AORUS ELITE, and Z790 AORUS TACHYON. All are dominated by the most powerful digital power supply and dominant metal heat dissipation design, which can fully release the performance of the “K” suffix Core processor, as well as the bandwidth of PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory. The top one is the Z790 AORUS XTREME, which adopts a 20-phase digital power supply design, with a full-coverage VRM radiator and a direct-touch 8mm heat pipe to enhance heat dissipation and system stability.

According to Gigabyte, AORUS Z790 series motherboards support PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD, providing faster storage speed, which is 40% higher than before; the full-coverage VRM radiator plus the M.2 Thermal Guard III radiator on the storage device allows the system to maintain stable output under high load operation without slowing down due to excessive temperature. Using GIGABYTE’s memory overclocking technology, DDR5 memory modules can also be automatically upgraded with one click, regardless of memory configuration files. These motherboards added Gigabyte’s exclusive overclocking function to the BIOS to make overclocking more convenient for players; the friendly design of PCIe and M.2 EZ-Latch function makes it easier for players to replace components.
