EA releases its second fiscal quarter earnings report for 2022

EA (Electronic Arts) announced its revenue for the second fiscal quarter of the fiscal year 2022 and stated that this is “the strongest second quarter.” But it is worth noting that EA hardly mentioned their “FIFA” series of games in this financial report.
According to the financial report, EA’s revenue in the second quarter was $1.83 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29%. Game revenue doubled to $617 million. As for net income, it reached $294 million, an increase of 60% year on year. Net booking)also reached $1.85 billion.

Under the strong second-quarter growth, EA raised its full-year revenue forecast from $6.85 billion to $6.93 billion, new orders from $7.4 billion to $7.63 billion, and net income expectations from $456 million rose to $583 million. As for the current quarter’s revenue, EA expects revenue to grow by 5% to $1.75 billion, but net income is forecast to be around $5 million.
This was the strongest second quarter in the history of Electronic Arts, with more players around the world joining and engaging in our leading franchises, new launches and live services,” said EA CEO Andrew Wilson.

Thanks to our incredibly talented teams, we’re excited to deliver more amazing experiences this holiday season, and connect hundreds of millions of players around the world through our EA Sports games, Apex Legends, Battlefield 2042 and more.”

It is worth noting that EA hardly mentioned the “FIFA” series of football games in this financial report but referred to the above-mentioned EA Sports games or global football games most of the time. This is because EA and FIFA have not reached a consensus on the “FIFA” series of games. EA has said that it is exploring the possibility of renaming the “FIFA” series, and FIFA does not want to accept exclusive transactions for the game.
