NVIDIA is preparing to launch RTX 3070 Ti on mobile platforms

It is rumored that Nvidia is preparing to update the Ampere architecture GPU product line for mobile platforms to cope with Intel’s upcoming Alchemist graphics card. According to VideoCardz reports, recently, a mobile GPU named NVIDIA GN20-E6 was found in the PCI device ID database, which corresponds to the code of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti mobile version. It adopts GA104 core, 256-bit video memory width, and 8GB video memory. The performance is expected to be similar to that of the current GeForce RTX 3080 mobile version. Previously, another mobile GPU named NVIDIA GN20-E8 was also discovered, which is said to correspond to the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti mobile version. It uses the new GA103 core, with 7680 CUDA cores, 256-bit video memory, and 8GB or 16GB video memory.

Intel is likely to launch Alchemist graphics cards in the first quarter of 2022. The top-of-the-line product is based on DG2-512EU GPU, which is rumored to be on par with Nvidia’s GA104 core, which may put some pressure on Nvidia. In order to better consolidate the high-end market, the product line needs to be updated as necessary to meet new challenges. Nvidia is expected to update its GeForce RTX 30 series mobile GPU product line in January next year.
