Countdown to Innovation: ASUS Announces ROG NUC Debut at CES 2024

In October of last year, ASUS and Intel formally consummated their partnership with the transfer of the NUC product line. Per the agreement previously established between the two corporations, ASUS has been entrusted with the manufacturing, marketing, and support of Intel’s 10th to 13th generation NUC products, while also undertaking the development and design of future NUC systems. In fact, since September 1, 2023, the NUC product line has been integrated into ASUS’s portfolio.

Recently, ASUS announced on their official media channels the impending launch of their inaugural ROG NUC. This unveiling is scheduled to take place at the CES 2024 event on January 8, 2024. Despite its more compact form factor, the ROG NUC is not expected to compete with ASUS’s existing ROG Strix X G22CH product line. Theoretically, it is poised to replace the NUC 13 Extreme (codenamed Raptor Canyon).

The teaser released by ASUS suggests that the design of the ROG NUC closely resembles that of the NUC 12 Enthusiast (codenamed Serpent Canyon), which is equipped with Intel’s 12th generation Core H-series processor and the Arc A770M discrete graphics card. Given ASUS’s history of not releasing any products with the Arc graphics card, it seems unlikely that they would adopt this “3i” platform combination.

Approximately six months ago, rumors began circulating about the ROG NUC. These speculations hinted at a futuristic design aesthetic for the exterior and an innovative hybrid cooling system internally. It was suggested that the device might feature Intel’s mobile platform Meteor Lake processor, support for 12-inch length graphics cards with a triple-slot thickness, and an abundance of RGB lighting effects.

With only a few days remaining until ASUS’s official event, the public eagerly anticipates detailed specifications of the ROG NUC.
