Apple will discontinue the Apple Music Voice plan in November

Apple has confirmed via its technical support page that the Apple Music Voice Plan, introduced in October 2021, will be discontinued in November of this year.

According to Apple, the Voice Plan subscription will cease to be available starting from November. Existing subscribers will have the automatic renewal feature disabled following the conclusion of their final billing cycle, and it is recommended that they transition to another Apple Music subscription plan.

Apple has not issued a press release stating the reasons for discontinuing the Voice Plan, but it appears related to several factors. The service is exclusively activated via Siri voice commands and lacks lyrics, music videos, lossless audio quality, and spatial audio features. It also does not support Android or Windows platforms. Despite being offered at a modest monthly price of USD 4.99, it may not have attracted a substantial subscriber base.

Following the discontinuation of the Voice Plan, Apple Music’s entry-level subscription option will now be replaced by a Student Plan, provided that subscribers meet the student eligibility criteria.
