Microsoft made organizational and personnel adjustments within Xbox

In mid-October of this year, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard was announced as completed. It was confirmed that Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick will remain in his position until the end of this year. The Verge has acquired information that reveals upcoming personnel changes within Microsoft’s Xbox division.

Sarah Bond, the former Vice President of Xbox Business Development, will ascend to the presidency, tasked with leading the Xbox team. She will oversee the integration of device experiences, player and creator engagement, platform engineering, strategic development, and business planning. Her purview will also include teams dedicated to data analytics and business development. Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios, will be promoted to President of Xbox Game Content and Studios, responsible for overseeing Xbox game studios and development projects, including the newly acquired Activision Blizzard, as well as ZeniMax and its subsidiary Bethesda.

Microsoft Xbox adjustments

As for Bobby Kotick, he will continue to serve as the CEO of Activision Blizzard until the end of this year. Meanwhile, Joslyn Main, General Manager and Chief of Staff of the Xbox business division, will retain her current position.

Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft Xbox, disclosed in an internal memo that Microsoft now possesses thirteen game content assets each valued at over one billion dollars. Furthermore, the Xbox Game Pass has reached a new milestone in subscriber numbers and is expected to continue growing in the gaming market. Hence, Spencer emphasized the necessity of organizational adjustments and maintaining a development advantage through a framework that enhances transparency and accountability.
