Industry experts speculate that during her visit, Dr. Su may strike a deal with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for the production of 3nm chips to be utilized in the next generation of devices. The capacity allocation may also be discussed for the Instinct MI300/MI300X, based on the CDNA 3 architecture, signifying one of AMD’s preferential strategies in the AI market. Dr. Su underscored that the manufacturing process of Instinct MI300/MI300X chips is a complex undertaking, requiring collaboration with various supply chain partners, a topic that forms one of the focal points of her visit.

Dr. Su articulated that the surge in artificial intelligence will not halt anytime soon. Over the next five to ten years, significant developments are to be expected. Every future AMD product will incorporate AI technology, particularly GPUs, as generative artificial intelligence holds immense appeal in the emergent market. Furthermore, Dr. Su highlighted the internal work of ROCm to support various large language models and assured that with enthusiastic responses from customers, further updates will be expedited.
