Ubisoft Montreal has taken over the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Ubisoft first revealed the remake of “Prince of Persia The Sands of Time” in September 2020, but in the next few days, there is very little related news. After a long period of news stagnation and indefinite delays, Ubisoft has announced that development will be moved from two studios in Pune and Mumbai, India, to a studio in Montreal, Canada.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake remake was originally the first game developed by Ubisoft’s Pune and Mumbai studios. Previously, it only assisted in the development of games such as “Just Dance” and “Steep”. Ubisoft said the development team will take the time to re-tune the game to make Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remastered a better experience. Ubisoft did not say what caused the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to need to change studios.

Ubisoft attaches great importance to the development of the remake of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” because this time it is not just a conventional technical upgrade such as replacing high-definition materials, but a new game remade using the AnvilNext game engine. Ubisoft originally planned to release the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in January 2021, but there is no news of an optimized version for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
