The price of GeForce RTX 4080 is gradually declining

Last year, Nvidia introduced its next-generation GeForce RTX 4080, predicated on the Ada Lovelace architecture. This model incorporated the AD103-300 GPU, boasted 76 SMs, or 9728 CUDA cores, with a base frequency of 2.21GHz and a boosted frequency of 2.51GHz. Equipped with 16GB of GDDR6X video memory, a memory bus width of 256-bit, and a memory speed of 23Gbps, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) was set at $1199.

As time has progressed, the price of the GeForce RTX 4080 has started to fluctuate, showing a gradual decline. Reports from last month suggested that Galax, a global AIC partner of Nvidia, commenced the implementation of a new pricing strategy. This primarily focused on the previously released mid-to-high/high-end GeForce RTX 4070/4080 series and the last generation’s mid-range mainstay RTX 3060, with all RTX 4080 series products decreasing by ¥1000 (around $140).

The timing and extent of these price reductions may vary across different regions. Presently, in the American e-commerce landscape, GeForce RTX 4080 products have already been reduced to $999, marking the first occasion the price has dipped below $1000. This represents a 16.6% decline compared to the initial official suggested retail price.

The product in question is the MSI GeForce RTX 4080 VENTUS 3X, a model which extols the virtues of a streamlined design ethos. Characterized by a modestly embellished exterior, the graphics card features three critically acclaimed TORX Fan 6.0s, offering a powerful cooling system to assist users in accomplishing a plethora of demanding tasks.

A similar trend is observed in Europe, with GeForce RTX 4080 products being reduced to €1159, signifying a 12.7% decline.
