The new Framework Laptop 13 is equipped with AMD Ryzen 7040U series

Framework, renowned for producing modular laptops, now offers the Framework Laptop 13, which allows users to interchange various components, such as the motherboard, I/O ports, and battery. The latest iteration of the Framework Laptop 13 has been released, featuring the AMD Ryzen 7040U series APU.

The new Framework Laptop 13 was initially unveiled at the Framework Next Level event last month, with the company announcing both Intel 13th generation Core and AMD Ryzen 7040 series versions. Following AMD’s launch of the Ryzen 7040U series APU for ultra-thin and low-power devices, Framework has revealed the details, making it the perfect choice for the modular design of the Framework Laptop 13.

The updated Framework Laptop 13 offers a choice of the Ryzen 7 7840U and Ryzen 5 7640U, the former featuring 8 cores and 16 threads, while the latter boasts 6 cores and 12 threads. To enable the laptop to run continuously at a 28W load, Framework has devised a novel cooling solution, and users also have the option to switch to a more eco-friendly, efficient 15W mode.

Moreover, the Framework Laptop 13 has a thickness of 15.85mm and weighs approximately 1.3kg. It is equipped with a 13.5-inch screen, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 2256 x 1504, with a 100% sRGB color gamut and a brightness of 400 nits. The chassis features four expansion slots, offering two fully-featured USB4 ports, with users also able to configure USB 3.2 ports for the device.

The new Framework Laptop 13 is now available for pre-order, with the DIY version starting at $849 and the Windows operating system version starting at $1,049. Mass shipments are planned for the third quarter of this year.
