Spotify’s lossless audio subscription plan may be called Superpremium

After streaming services such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal have all offered lossless audio content, Spotify is evidently poised to launch its subscription plan featuring lossless audio, potentially branded as ‘Superpremium’.

Engineer Chris Messina uncovered hints of the forthcoming ‘Superpremium’ subscription from Spotify’s app source code. Some have even unearthed that this new tier might be priced at $20 per month.

Barring any unforeseen changes, the previously rumored Spotify Hi-Fi subscription will likely be rebranded under the ‘Superpremium’ moniker.

From earlier reports, the ‘Superpremium’ subscription is set to offer 24-bit lossless audio streaming. Additionally, it will feature AI-generated playlists, and more sophisticated mixing tools, and encompass audiobook playback durations ranging from 20 to 30 hours.
