Some details of Rise of the Ronin have been leaked

Rise of the Ronin, a nascent creation under development by Team NINJA, was initially unveiled at Sony’s State of Play conference in 2022, yet further information has since been sparing. Citing news from Wccftech, sundry details of the game have surfaced on Reddit.

The leaked information suggests that Rise of the Ronin marries the distinctive features of Assassin’s Creed, Dark Souls, and Ghost of Tsushima. For instance, the game ventures to broaden its worldview with an array of narrative-laden item descriptions, reminiscent of “Dark Souls,” while also incorporating a plethora of Ubisoft-style side quests. The game also offers a difficulty selection and a skill tree.

The leak also disclosed the game’s operation modes. Echoing many PS5 games, Rise of the Ronin will offer both performance and quality modes. However, the whistleblower did not specify the resolution and frame rate for each mode, only noting that the development team will endeavor to maximize the game’s fidelity before its launch.

Simultaneously, the informant indicated a prospective release in the first quarter of 2024, with March being the most likely. It is worth mentioning that Team NINJA’s  Nioh series, such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. was also released in March of the current year, lending a certain credibility to this rumor.

For enthusiasts of Team NINJA’s studio, nothing can surpass the joy of persistently engaging in new games. The only contention is that, unlike the Nioh series, Rise of the Ronin is currently exclusive to PS5, with no announcements yet concerning a release on additional platforms.
