Seagate FireCuda 540 series listed on e-commerce platforms

As per Wccftech‘s report, Seagate’s FireCuda 540 series is now available on e-commerce platforms, representing Seagate’s inaugural PCIe 5.0 solid-state drive.

Although Seagate has yet to formally launch the FireCuda 540 series, it has been listed on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon UK and B&H Photo, providing a glimpse into some of the product specifications. Based on the information displayed on these platforms, the FireCuda 540 series solid-state drives will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, though the 4TB version is not yet listed.

Regarding specific technical specifications, the Seagate FireCuda 540 series employs 3D TLC NAND flash memory, a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface, and an M.2 2280 NVMe form factor. The 2TB variant has a top read and write speed of 10GB/s, while the 1TB version is slightly slower, with maximum read and write speeds of 9.5GB/s and 8.5GB/s, respectively.

As for longevity, the FireCuda 540 1TB has a life expectancy of 1000 TBW, the 2TB has 2000 TBW, and the 4TB has 3949 TBW. Seagate asserts that the FireCuda 540 series can endure the erasure of 90% of its storage capacity daily for five years, and also offers a complimentary three-year data recovery service from the original manufacturer.

Currently, aside from the 4TB version, the prices of other capacities of Seagate’s FireCuda 540 series have been announced. The FireCuda 540 1TB is priced at $189.9 on B&H Photo, and the 2TB version is priced at $319.9. The domestic price and release date remain unknown for the time being.
