NVIDIA Ampere A100 will be the best crypto mining GPU

The official title of Nvidia is “NVIDIA is leading the way in AI computing”. It is not clear whether they have done this, but what we know is that Nvidia knows more and more about how to make money in the crypto mining field.

The CMP HX series of mining processors launched by Nvidia some time ago does not have the graphics output function. After all, the GPU production capacity is limited and game players can hardly buy new ones. In the context of graphics cards, Nvidia will use some of its GPUs as cryptocurrency mining GPU.

Today, netizens revealed that after NVIDIA has launched four CMP HX mining processors, it will also push a more powerful CMP HX processor with an A100 GPU core.

The netizen who leaked the news said that the upcoming A100 core processor from Nvidia will be a “mining monster”. For this, we looked for the RTX 3090 and the strongest CMP HX90 for comparison.

At present, in the Ethereum mining environment, RTX 3090 (using GA102 GPU, GDDR6X memory, memory bandwidth is 936.2BG/s), the average hash rate is 115-120MH/s. The official hash rate data of CMP HX90 (using GDDR6 memory) is 86MH/s.

The upcoming A100 core mining processor is much stronger than the two of them. It uses HBM2 memory, bandwidth is up to 1.6TB/s, and the TDP of the A1000 core is 250W (lower than the 350W GA102 core of the RTX 3090). The hash rate is about 200MH/s.
However, although the mining performance of the A100 core processor is very strong, its price is expected to be seven times that of the RTX 3090.
