The Vice President of Xiaomi Corp and Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing also said on Weibo recently that the current chip shortage is not a shortage but an extreme shortage, and it is not only the main chip products of the Qualcomm series that are out of stock.

At the same time, power management chips and radio frequency chips such as Qualcomm are also lacking. This tight supply problem directly affects the normal shipment of the Xiaomi series of mobile phones.

At present, the shipment volume of the Xiaomi series of mobile phones has been soaring. After Huawei sold the Honor brand, Xiaomi’s sales have increased more, so the demand for chips is also greater.

Originally, this was an excellent opportunity for Xiaomi, but it was unexpected that the chip would be so lacking, so Xiaomi had to use more MediaTek chips in the future.
