MSI provides new BIOS for some of its 600/700 series motherboards: supports Intel 14th generation Core

Intel has announced that the “Intel Innovation” summit will be convened in San Jose, California, from September 19th to 20th, 2023. It is conjectured by many that Intel will use this occasion to unveil its 14th generation Core processors, known as Raptor Lake Refresh.

As the new processors are approaching their launch, numerous manufacturers have begun to initiate the corresponding preparatory work. Recently, MSI announced a new BIOS version for some of its 600/700 series motherboards, offering support for Intel’s 14th-generation Core processors. Prior to this, Gigabyte, ASUS, and ASRock have sequentially introduced support for Intel’s “next-generation” processors.

Here is a partial list of MSI motherboards receiving the BIOS update:

The rumored Raptor Lake Refresh is expected to have higher frequencies, with a 200MHz increase for the “K” series, support for higher frequency DDR5 memory, higher power consumption possibly approaching 300W, compatibility with existing LGA 1700 sockets, and fabrication using the same Intel 7 process.
