Microsoft updated Microsoft Authenticator beta for Android

Microsoft seems to be preparing to add password manager-related functions to the Microsoft Identity Verifier to achieve cross-platform synchronization of browser passwords and mobile terminals.

Of course, from a marketing perspective, this is not conducive to the development of Microsoft browsers. After all, the authentication device now supports selecting and filling passwords on any browser.

But the rumors are true that Microsoft has indeed turned the multi-factor authentication tool into a password manager, and related functions have been tested on the Android version of Microsoft Authenticator.

As early as when Microsoft Office 365 changed its name to Microsoft 365, there was news that Microsoft might bring a password manager for personal and family subscriptions.

Of course, as you know, when the name was changed, Microsoft did not launch a password manager app, so we were a little disappointed. Now, Microsoft’s latest move allows us to regain hope.

Microsoft Authenticator is a Microsoft branded multi-factor authentication tool that supports time-based OTP one-time verification codes.

Microsoft has added the Microsoft Edge browser password synchronization function to the latest Android version of the authentication device, which supports the synchronization of passwords to mobile devices.

This means that we can use the authenticator to fill in the password with any browser on our Android device, instead of using the Microsoft Edge browser.

From a functional point of view, this is the function of the password manager that Microsoft has added, so it is almost certain that Microsoft is indeed preparing to provide users with a password manager.
