Microsoft Edge’s immersive reader supports translation in 54 languages

Immersive reading is a new feature introduced by Microsoft in the browser. This feature can remove non-critical elements on the web page so that users can read the content without interference.

However, due to compatibility issues, the immersive reading function of previous versions could not use the translation service. Microsoft has released updates and improvements to address this issue.

In the new version, users can use Microsoft’s translation service even in immersive reading mode, which is useful for users who frequently read non-native web pages.

Microsoft said that it has now supported translation services in 54 languages under the immersive reading mode. The service mainly calls Microsoft Translator to translate the content of the web pages locally.

Microsoft wrote:

The web is packed with important information and many prefer to read pages in their native language. Translate in Microsoft Edge breaks down the walls of language by giving people the ability to easily translate web page text into one of 54 languages with the press of a button.
