Microsoft brings Live Photos upload feature to OneDrive iOS app

Microsoft recently announced the update of the OneDrive iOS app. In this update, Microsoft will bring back up dynamic pictures to iOS users.

Dynamic pictures were originally converted into static pictures instead of original pictures when backing up, but after all, the cloud storage provided by Microsoft is not like Google’s.

After the user’s feedback, Microsoft believes that it is indeed necessary to synchronize the original dynamic pictures instead of turning them into static pictures. Now, this feature has been launched to all users.

This kind of dynamic picture is actually a video and contains sound. In the previous backup upload, Microsoft will automatically extract the keyframes and then completely remove the sound part.

In the new version, Microsoft will upload, backup, and synchronize according to the original image, which means that users can also view dynamic images on other platforms and clients after backup.

Microsoft said that the currently supported platforms include iOS and Web. After backing up a picture, users can see the dynamic picture by pressing and holding the picture. Of course, this will take up more space.

Previously, Microsoft did not support the backup of dynamic images, so the upload was static images, so if you have already backed up through Microsoft before, you can delete and back up again.

Of course, the premise is that you still keep the original image on this machine or backup the original image in another location, otherwise the dynamic image cannot be restored after the image processed by Microsoft.
