Lexar launches NM1090 M.2 PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD and NM790 with Heatsink M.2 NVMe SSD

Lexar has announced the release of its NM1090 M.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD and the thermally-enhanced NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, both tailored for avid gamers, professionals, and content creators.

The NM1090 M.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD employs a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and supports the NVMe 2.0 specification. It is built around the Phison PS5026-E26 controller chip, fabricated using a 12nm process. With a diverse offering ranging from 1TB to 4TB, it boasts peak sequential read speeds of up to 12,000MB/s and write speeds that cap at 11,000MB/s. Integrated with an active cooling solution, this ensures enhanced thermal efficiency, optimizing both performance and energy efficiency.

The NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD variant leverages a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and incorporates HMB 3.0 and SLC Cache dynamic caching technologies, augmented with advanced algorithms. This model, available in capacities from 1TB to 4TB, reaches pinnacle sequential read speeds of 7,400MB/s, write speeds of 6,500MB/s, a maximum random read of 900,000 IOPS, a random write of 900,000 IOPS, and has a TBW rating of up to 3,000. Distinctively different from currently available versions, Lexar equips it with a cooling solution, rendering it suitable not only for desktops but also as an expansion storage for Sony’s PlayStation 5 gaming console.

Lexar has established a long history of developing leading memory solutions. By leveraging its expertise to develop a variety of products, we are proud to offer the quality, performance, and reliability Lexar users expect. We will continue to offer products designed to meet the unique needs of the PC enthusiasts community.” said Samy Benarf, General Manager Europe of Lexar.

The new offerings are slated for a release as early as the fourth quarter of this year, though Lexar remains reticent regarding specific pricing details.
