ASRock Launches 4X4 BOX 7040 Series Mini PC, Equipped with Ryzen 7040U series

ASRock has unveiled the 4X4 BOX 7040 series of mini PCs, powered by the AMD Ryzen 7040U series APU. With dimensions of 110 x 117.5 x 47.85 mm and weighing a mere 1kg, the 4X4 BOX 7040 series offers a choice between the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U and Ryzen 5 7640U processors. Both are rooted in the Zen 4 architecture, fabricated using TSMC’s 4nm process and possess a TDP of 28W. The Ryzen 7 7840U boasts 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base frequency of 3.3 GHz and a turbo boost reaching 5.1 GHz. Its integrated graphics, the Radeon 780M, features 768 stream processors with a clock speed of 2700 MHz. Conversely, the Ryzen 5 7640U comprises 6 cores and 12 threads, starting at 3.5 GHz and peaking at 4.9 GHz. Its graphics component, the Radeon 760M, houses 512 stream processors, clocking in at 2600 MHz.

The 4X4 BOX 7040 is equipped with two DDR5 SO-DIMM memory slots, supporting up to 64GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. For storage expansion, it offers a PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Key M slot (compatible with 2242/2260/2280 specifications) and a SATA 3.0 slot. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. It incorporates two ethernet ports powered by the Realtek RTL8111EPV (1 Gbps with DASH support) and RTL-8125BG (2.5 Gbps). Display and peripheral connectivity are provided via two HDMI 1.4b ports, two USB4 ports (with DP 1.4 mode video output, supporting up to four display outputs), one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, two USB 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
