Lenovo Legion Go handheld will be equipped with AMD Ryzen Z1 series APU

Two days prior, leaked renderings of Lenovo’s impending handheld, christened “Legion Go,” emerged from the shadows, portraying an apparatus that seems to have taken a leaf out of the Nintendo Switch’s design manuscript. This device, it appears, will brandish a 16:9 display screen and modular controllers. Further augmenting its allure, it boasts rear trigger buttons and both its zenith and nadir play host to USB Type-C ports. Complementing these are a power button, a headphone jack, and a Micro-SD slot.

According to WindowsReport, additional promotional images of the Legion Go have surfaced, suggesting the incorporation of an AMD Ryzen Z1 series APU, aligning seamlessly with prevailing speculations. The fresh tableau reveals the handheld to be endowed with stereo speakers, a pair of microphones, a duo of USB-C ports, and more. Additionally, it integrates a stand, replete with a dedicated switch for FPS mode. To cap it off, the device will come pre-installed with the Windows 11 operating system.

Regrettably, this cascade of revelations lacked any intricate details regarding the Legion Go’s precise specifications. The air remains thick with uncertainty on whether it wields the Ryzen Z1 or its more formidable counterpart, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme — or perhaps, both variants are in the offing. As per AMD’s prior official disclosures, a significant performance chasm exists between the Ryzen Z1 and the Ryzen Z1 Extreme.

In tandem with these undertakings, Lenovo is also threading the path toward the creation of the Legion AR glasses. It’s projected these will be offered in concert with the Legion Go handheld, with the two devices capable of pairing synergistically. This confluence underscores Lenovo’s unyielding ambition to enhance productivity and enrich the gaming milieu. While myriad enigmas persist, Lenovo’s novel contrivance seems to amalgamate the designs of the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and Nintendo Switch. If paired with judicious pricing, it stands poised to ascend as a triumphant piece of tech.

The IFA 2023 is set to unfurl its curtains on September 1, 2023, in Berlin, with whispers on the wind suggesting Lenovo will unveil further facets of the Legion Go handheld.
