iOS 14.4 will pop up warning messages for non-original cameras

Apple is currently gradually tightening the replacement policy for various hardware. For example, Apple has previously warned about replacing non-original displays and non-original batteries.

Although consumers may not affect the use of components through unofficial repairers, Apple will still pop up warning messages for such hardware in the settings application.

The camera is included in the detection range of Apple. Some developers found that Apple has added code related to the detection of the original camera in the iOS 14.4 beta.

When the user replaces the non-original Apple camera through an unofficial repairer or by himself, a corresponding warning message will pop up in the settings application after starting the device.

In the warning message, Apple stated that it could not verify that this device has a genuine Apple camera. Of course, apart from the warning message, this will not affect the normal use of users.

For now, although Apple has a warning for non-original displays and non-original batteries, it is also limited to warnings and does not directly prevent users from using the device.

For example, after replacing a non-original battery, the battery health function will not display the maximum remaining battery capacity, but functions such as daily charging and screen use time are normal.

So the warning about the camera is probably the same. After all, as long as it can be used normally, it is not a problem for users, but they don’t know Apple’s subsequent actions.
