Intel Core 14th generation K series processor specifications leak

Not long ago, specifications of Intel’s 14th generation Raptor Lake Refresh processors leaked, indicating a change in the Core i7 from 8P+8E to 8P+12E, and the Core i5-14600K/KF from 6P+8E to 8P+8E. However, the number of cores in the Core i9 would remain unchanged. Now, more reliable information has emerged. The changes to the Core i7 are indeed accurate, but the Core i5 will remain at 6P+8E.

The information is an output from Benchlife, who have received the detailed specifications of the 14th generation Core processors’ Pre-QS to be released in mid-October. Starting with the Core i9-14900K, its specifications are almost indistinguishable from the current Core i9-13900KS. It is still 8P+16E, with a base frequency of 3.2GHz, and a maximum turbo frequency of 6.0GHz, but there may be an increase in the all-core turbo frequency.

The Core i7-14700K is the only one where the number of cores is changing, increasing to 8P+12E. Its L3 cache also increases from 30MB to 33MB, and the maximum turbo frequency increases from 5.4GHz to 5.6GHz. The Core i5-14600K continues with a specification of 6P+8E, with the maximum turbo frequency increasing from 5.1GHz to 5.3GHz.

Of course, this is currently only the Pre-QS stage, and subsequent changes may occur, making the final specifications uncertain. The Raptor Lake Refresh will cover the desktop S and mobile HX platforms for the next generation of products. It will maintain the same interfaces as now, with the desktop version still using the LGA 1700, and no new motherboards. The existing Intel 600/700 series motherboards can use the new processors after updating the BIOS. However, the manufacturers will launch a small number of upgraded new models.
