Hugging Face has once again received investment from large technology companies including Google

Recently, Hugging Face, a platform specializing in the hosting of shared machine learning models and datasets, has forged profound collaborations with industry giants such as AMD, NVIDIA, and VMware. In its recent financing round, the company secured significant investments from tech luminaries including Google, Amazon, AMD, NVIDIA, IBM, and Salesforce.

In this Series D funding round, Hugging Face garnered approximately $235 million, elevating its market valuation to an impressive $4.5 billion. Clement Delangue, Hugging Face’s Chief Executive Officer, remarked that these funds will be channeled to augment their current team, which boasts 170 members, and to continue the expansion of their open-source artificial intelligence models and platform initiatives.

This influx of capital underscores the increasing emphasis tech companies place on the development and application of open-source artificial intelligence models, frameworks, and datasets. Particularly, as the demand for autogenerative AI technologies burgeons, a plethora of developers and businesses are inclined to sculpt AI applications through open-source model architectures.

In a recent alliance with VMware, Hugging Face not only collaborated to create a tool dubbed “SafeCoder” – which facilitates enterprises and developers in generating code via natural language processing but also proactively verifies the accuracy of the produced code, thereby expediting the efficiency of cloud deployment services.

Moreover, in a joint endeavor between VMware and NVIDIA, titled “Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA,” Hugging Face’s hosted open-source AI model framework has been seamlessly integrated. This integration ensures that businesses can confidently harness open-source model frameworks for AI training, paving the way for a diverse range of autogenerative AI application services.
