Vasinskyi was extradited to the U.S. following his arrest at the Poland-Ukraine border in 2021. Later, in a Texas court, he pleaded guilty to 11 charges, including conspiracy to commit fraud, causing damage to protected computer networks, and conspiracy to launder money.

In 2023, the U.S. Department of Justice completed the procedure for seizing assets obtained through ransomware operations. They confiscated 39.89138522 bitcoins and 6.1 million dollars, which, according to investigations, were linked to ransom payments owed to Vasinskyi and another member of the REvil group, Evgeniy Polyanin.

U.S. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco emphasized the global reach of justice, noting that in collaboration with international partners, they successfully hold accountable those who attack victims in the U.S. and curb the activities of a broad range of cyber criminals.
