CenturyLink outage has caused abnormalities in many network services in the United States

The American Internet company, CenturyLink has a technical failure. This failure has caused a large number of service failures in the United States and around the world.

The company is responsible for handling a large number of network connections and traffic for the network infrastructure transit provider. After a failure, a large number of services cannot be transited through its infrastructure.

Many popular services including Amazon, Twitter, Microsoft (Xbox Live), EA, Blizzard, Steam, Discord, Reddit, Hulu, Duo Security, Imperva, NameCheap, OpenDNS, and many more were unable to provide services due to this failure.

The scope of the failure is mainly in the United States, but the company also provides part of the network transit for Europe and Asia, resulting in more affected countries and regions than expected.

CenturyLink has updated the progress of the problem repair on Twitter. According to the latest news, the technical problem has been resolved, and network services in most areas are gradually being restored.

However, some areas may not be able to connect to the Internet due to network caching and routing, and affected consumers can only wait for the network facilities to recover themselves.

As for what caused the problem, CenturyLink did not explain, and it may take more time to investigate the failure in detail and re-examine the accident.
