ASRock launched two 4×4-inch mini motherboards with Ryzen 7035 series processor

ASRock Industrial is a division of ASRock specializing in industrial computers and IoT devices. We have reported on some of their equipment in the past, such as the passively cooled iBOX mini PC. As per Tom’s Hardware and Twitter user @momomo_us, ASRock Industrial has now launched two motherboards designed specifically for mini PCs.

Both motherboards conform to the 4×4-inch format, aligning with the specifications of Intel’s NUC mini PC. In exact measures, they have dimensions of 4.09 x 4.02 x 1.4 inches (10.4 x 10.2 x 3.6 cm). As with other industrial control devices, these two motherboards are named distinctly: the 4X4-7735U/D5 (Ryzen 7 7735U) and the 4X4-7535U/D5 (Ryzen 5 7535U). Their embedded processors are their sole differences. Despite the processors’ TDP being only 28W, ASRock Industrial has outfitted them with an active cooling solution.

Both motherboards come equipped with two DDR5 SODIMM slots, supporting a maximum of DDR5-4800 specification and up to 64GB (32GB x2) of capacity. Due to space constraints, these motherboards are fitted with a single M.2 2280 slot with PCIe 4.0 x4 specification. Additionally, like the NUC, they also have a SATA3 port for connecting a 2.5-inch hard drive. On the networking front, they each offer two LAN ports: one managed by the Realtek RTL8125G for 2.5GbE, and another by the Realtek RTL81111EPV for Gigabit connectivity. While wireless network cards are not standard, an empty M.2 2230 Key E slot is available for user-installed wireless network cards.

In terms of I/O, both motherboards come equipped with an HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.1 port each; two USB 4 Type-C ports with video output support; two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. Additionally, there is a 3.5 audio jack and a DC circular port for the power supply.

According to @momomo_us, both motherboards are currently listed on Newegg for pre-order. The 4X4-7735U/D5 is priced at $630, while the 4X4-7535U/D5 is listed at $480.
