Apple will launch Apple Watch SE in 2021 to replace Series 3

The current leader in the smartwatch market is undoubtedly Apple’s Apple Watch, and most of the profits are also taken away by Apple. However, even if this market has developed for many years, it has not yet become a market of the size of the iPhone and AirPods. The reason may be that the unit price of Apple Watch is slightly higher, which does not meet the price of smartwatches in most people’s minds. Therefore, Apple is planning to launch a cheap Apple Watch.

According to the information of whistleblower Komiya, Apple is planning to launch an Apple Watch with low cost, not too outdated design, and still able to provide a good user experience. This product is named Apple Watch SE.

It is reported that Apple Watch SE will be the core-exchange version of Apple Watch Series 3, which is indeed in line with the positioning of Apple SE series products: Slightly outdated design, latest processor, and relatively low price.

Apple Watch SE will be equipped with the next-generation Apple Watch processor, which is the same Series 6 processor, and will be equipped with 16GB of storage, Bluetooth 5.0, and cellular network support.

Of course, as a cheap version of Apple Watch, Apple Watch SE will not be equipped with some of the high-end features of the current Apple Watch Series 5, such as ECG tracking, the “always display” function implemented with LTPO display, and it will only provide 42mm one.

The news broke that Apple Watch SE will be available in March next year, and the price is the same as Apple Watch Series 3, the LTE version is priced at $399.
