Apple will implement a new product strategy starting with the iPhone 14 series

Apple will release a new generation of the iPhone 14 series this fall. It is rumored that there will be four models of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the mini model will be replaced by the iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch screen. In addition, only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are rumored to use the A16 Bionic, and the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will still use the A15X Bionic.

It is understood that the reason why Apple did this was partly due to the impact of the global chip shortage in the past period, but the more important reason is that Apple is about to execute a new product strategy, a long-term and diversified plan that will extend to future iPhone models. According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will increase shipments of high-end models of the iPhone 14 series, with the proportion increasing from 40% to 50% in the past to 55% to 60%.

The new diversification strategy could widen the immediate gap between the base and Pro models, executing a strategy similar to that between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, maintaining the performance gap between the two models. Apple hopes this approach will provide a unique selling point for high-end iPhone models, boosting sales by 20%, and next year’s iPhone 15 series will be no exception.
