Apple acquires startup AI Music

Since the launch of Apple’s streaming music service Apple Music, with the continuous update and improvement of its functions, has been welcomed by more and more consumers. According to relevant media reports, Apple recently acquired AI Music, a start-up company located in London, UK, to further enhance the service functions of Apple Music and make it perform better in various application scenarios.

It is understood that AI Music has developed a “wireless music engine” that can generate dynamic soundtracks that change based on user interactions. For example, if a user is exercising outdoors, when the heartbeat is detected, it will make corresponding adjustments to echo the user, which means that it can be changed according to the user’s usage scene or mood. AI Music says the feature allows advertisers to create audio that matches the user’s current mood, and can also change based on what the user is watching.

AI Music aims to help brands create “royalty-free adaptive music”, targeting advertising, media, and games, hoping to bring the music users to want, and create dynamic soundtracks that change according to the interaction. Some people in the industry believe that Apple may use AI Music technology in current audio products, in addition to Apple Music, HomePod mini, or Apple Fitness+, these services are closely related to the user’s mood or heartbeat changes.

The acquisition is a very small purchase for Apple with deep pockets, but it is one of the few acquisitions Apple has made in the past year. Apple’s most recent acquisition was also about music, a company called Primephonic, which provides classical music streaming services. Apple plans to turn it into an Apple Music-related app this year.
