AMD’s Hardware Dominance Resurfaces: Steam Survey Reveals Significant Growth

Recently, Valve released the results of its Steam Hardware Survey for November 2023. AMD’s products showcased a significant surge in growth, with both processors and graphics cards witnessing considerable market share increases of 8.4% and 4.7% respectively, reclaiming a substantial portion of their lost territory.

Over the past month, the market shares of several leading Nvidia graphics cards have noticeably declined. The top-ranking RTX 3060 experienced a decline of 4.88 percentage points, plummeting from 9.92% to 5.04%. The second-place GTX 1650 saw its share rise by 1.13 percentage points, climbing from 3.63% to 4.76%. The GTX 1060, ranked third, witnessed a decrease of 0.77 percentage points, falling from 5.09% to 4.32%. The fourth-placed RTX 3060 mobile version enjoyed an increase of 1.2 percentage points, ascending from 2.74% to 3.94%. The fifth-ranked RTX 2060 saw its share drop by 2.36 percentage points, descending from 6.07% to 3.71%.

Additionally, the sixth and seventh positions, occupied by the Ampere architecture mainstream products RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070, both experienced significant declines, with the former dropping from 4.95% to 3.54% and the latter from 5.18% to 3.32%. Conversely, AMD’s Radeon RX 5000/6000/7000 series graphics cards all saw varying degrees of market share increase.

In this survey, AMD processors saw their market share rise from last month’s 26.2% to 34.7%, while Intel processors experienced a decrease from 73.8% to 65.3%. In terms of core count, six-core processors remained the most popular, though their share declined from 39.8% to 31.9%.

Another noteworthy change is in the operating system market share. Under Microsoft’s aggressive promotion, Windows 11’s share rapidly increased from 30.5% to 42%, at the expense of Windows 10, which saw a significant decrease from 65.6% to 53.5%.
