AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 series specs revealed

Embedded and AIoT solutions provider Advantech announced the launch of the AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 series AIMB-522 motherboard, the first manufacturer to announce the adoption of the new Zen 3 architecture embedded processor.
The AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 series is manufactured using the 7nm process. According to the information provided by Advantech, this series will have four processors, 5950E, 5900E, 5800E, and 5600E, with corresponding core numbers of 12, 10, 8, and 6 respectively, which are different from the common Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors.

AIMB-522 motherboard is Micro-ATX specification, adopts X570 chipset, provides 1 M.2 slot, 4 SATA III ports, 6 COM ports, 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 8 USB 3.2 Gen2 port, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 3 USB 2.0 ports, and there are three display outputs, namely DP, HDMI, and VGA. In addition, there are 4 DDR4 memory slots, 1 PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, and 2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. This motherboard supports DeviceOn and embedded software API, the former is cloud-based remote access and management technology from Advantech.

Advantech said that the new motherboard provides sufficient adaptability for industrial applications, which will be a key requirement for automated manufacturing applications in the next few years, and helps customers upgrade their factory’s existing automation controllers to AI-enabled image processing solutions.
