Amazon releases Eero Max 7 wireless router

Netgear has recently unveiled its Orbi 970 series, a Wi-Fi 7 Mesh system, which, while boasting formidable performance, carries an equally formidable price tag: $2,299.99 for a three-piece set (1 primary, 2 secondary) and $1,699.99 for a two-piece set (1 primary, 1 secondary). Amazon has responded by introducing the latest addition to its Eero series, the Eero Max 7, joining the fray in the Wi-Fi 7 router market.

Compared to its predecessor, the Eero Pro 6E, the Eero Max 7 exhibits pronounced enhancements in both performance and user-friendliness. Amazon asserts that the wireless network can envelop an expanse of up to 7,500 square feet. The Wi-Fi 7 specification confers upon the Eero Max 7 features such as a 320MHz channel—surpassing the 160Hz of Wi-Fi 6E. This new product not only accommodates traditional 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands but also introduces support for the novel 6GHz band, achieving wireless speeds up to 4.3 Gbps. In a divergence from the Orbi 970 series, the Eero Max 7 eschews a dedicated wireless backhaul, opting to communicate between units using the 6GHz band. Subsequently, contingent upon connection strength, it reverts to the 5GHz or 2.4GHz bands when necessary.

Consistent with other Eero Mesh systems, the Eero Max 7 endorses Amazon’s patented TrueMesh technology. By dynamically routing data through the swiftest paths within the network, it curtails signal interference, ensuring a swift and dependable internet experience in every room. The Eero Max 7 also serves as a smart home hub compatible with Alexa, Zigbee, and Thread devices. Furthermore, it offers two 10 Gigabit and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports for WAN/LAN connections.

Currently available on e-commerce platforms, the pricing for the three-piece set stands at $1,699.99, the two-piece set at $1,149.99, and the single-piece set at $599.99, rendering it more economical than the Orbi 970 series.
