Vision Pro: Apple’s Next Big Bet on Virtual Experiences

Renowned Bloomberg journalist, Mark Gurman, reported that the immersive visual headwear device, Vision Pro, unveiled by Apple during WWDC 2023, might offer its encompassing design headband as an optional accessory for purchase.

The Vision Pro headband could adopt a more minimalist design in the nascent stage. Users who desire an enhanced wearing experience or even intend to continue utilizing the Vision Pro in a supine posture will evidently have to incur additional expenditure to procure exclusive Vision Pro accessories.

Moreover, Apple envisages demonstrating the Vision Pro to a broader audience. It is anticipated that they will establish a showcase area in the App Store, making this device easily accessible to a greater number of consumers. Apple has also fabricated an app tailored for iPhone users, enabling App Store staff to scan the contours of the user’s face, assisting in providing headphones and cushioning accessories that better fit and adhere.

The Vision Pro is projected to penetrate the market in 2024, with the latest sales commencement in May. Therefore, Apple still retains nearly a year to refine its sales strategy for this product. There are rumors that Apple has already embarked on creating another virtual visual headwear device, whose price is anticipated to be lower than Vision Pro’s $3499, appealing to a broader consumer demographic.
