Synology launches all-flash storage FlashStation FS2500 for small and medium-sized businesses

NAS server industry leader Synology Technology Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of Synology FlashStation FS2500, cost-effective all-flash storage for enterprises and organizations.

This all-flash storage is not an iron bump but a 1U standard rackmount, which can be directly installed in the rack with other software and hardware to improve productivity.

The so-called all-flash memory means that this server uses solid-state hard drives instead of mechanical hard drives. The FS2500 has 12 bays for installing 2.5-inch SATA SSDs.

For this reason, Synology has also launched a supporting solid-state drive Synology SAT5210 with a single block capacity of up to 4TB. Of course, companies can also purchase other solid-state drives of the same size.

FlashStation FS2500 uses AMD RYZEN V1780B embedded processor, with a basic CPU frequency of 3.35GHz and a maximum frequency of 3.6GHz.

The default configuration is enterprise-level ECC UDIMM 8GB DDR4 memory, which supports 16GB memory. There are two slots so it supports up to 32GB memory (16×2 version)

FS2500 has 12 bays and a single volume size supports up to 200TB and is equipped with two 10GbE RJ45 standard network ports to support up to 20,000 megabytes of the transmission rate.

A single volume of 200TB requires 32GB of memory. If the memory is less than 32GB, a single volume supports up to 100TB. For details, please refer to Synology’s official instructions.

It is also equipped with 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and 1 PCIe3.0 x 8 slots (x4 link). Enterprises can use this slot for hardware expansion as needed.

The appearance adopts a 1U standard rackmount design, the size is 44mm*481.9mm*559.9mm, the weight is 8.3 kg without hard disk, and rails can be purchased at an additional cost.

The following kits are paid additional options: DDR4 ECC 16GB memory, SAT5210 solid-state disk, 25GbE network card, rail, and monitoring equipment license.
