Sony announced the acquisition of high-end headphone brand Audeze

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced its acquisition of the esteemed headphone brand, Audeze, to enhance the auditory experience of the PlayStation gaming franchise.

While the financial particulars of the transaction remain undisclosed, Sony Interactive Entertainment emphasizes that assimilating Audeze will amplify the auditory immersion of gamers on the PlayStation console platform. Moreover, it will bolster the capabilities of PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D audio technology and enrich the user experience of the Pulse 3D headphone series.

Furthermore, Sony Interactive Entertainment points out that Audeze’s use of planar magnetic diaphragm design in their headphone products promises to deliver a more authentic sound representation. Notably, the recently unveiled Pulse Explore true wireless in-ear headphones and the Pulse Elite wireless over-ear headphones both incorporate this planar magnetic diaphragm design, seemingly crafted utilizing Audeze’s expertise.

Currently, the recommended retail price for the Pulse Explore true wireless headphones stands at $199 or 29,980 yen, whereas the Pulse Elite wireless over-ear headphones are priced at $249.99 or 18,980 yen.
