Patriot launches VP4000 Mini SSD: M.2 2230 specifications, up to 2TB optional

Patriot has announced the launch of its VP4000 Mini M.2 2230 PCIe Gen4 x4 Gaming SSD. The company emphasizes that perpetual innovation in the gaming realm remains its paramount objective, asserting that the introduction of the VP4000 Mini M.2 2230 PCIe Gen4 x4 Gaming SSD will significantly bolster Patriot’s influence in the handheld gaming sector in 2024.

The VP4000 Mini M.2 2230 PCIe Gen4 x4 Gaming SSD offers three storage capacities: 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. It utilizes the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and complies with the NVMe 1.4 standard. Compatible with Windows 7/8.0/8.1/10/11 operating systems, the SSD boasts impressive sequential read and write speeds of up to 5000 MB/s and 3500 MB/s, respectively. In terms of durability, it reaches a maximum of 450TBW. Furthermore, Patriot has equipped the VP4000 Mini M.2 2230 PCIe Gen4 x4 Gaming SSD with a special ultra-thin heat sink, enhancing the main control and flash memory’s contact with air, thus delivering superior thermal performance and ensuring stable operation in confined spaces.

Like many recent similar products, Patriot’s M.2 2230 model, in addition to expanding the storage capacity for handheld devices like Asus’s ROG Ally and Valve’s Steam Deck, is also compatible with lightweight PCs such as the Microsoft Surface series notebooks. However, Patriot cautions that while this SSD can achieve its peak sequential read speed of 3200 MB/s on the Steam Deck, this is lower than its standard maximum, whereas on the ROG Ally, it can reach the advertised 5000 MB/s.

It is understood that the VP4000 Mini M.2 2230 PCIe Gen4 x4 Gaming SSD is slated for release next year. The pricing remains undisclosed, but Patriot is offering a five-year warranty for the product.
