Microsoft’s services such as Microsoft 365 will end IE11 browser support at this time next year

According to the latest schedule released by Microsoft, the company will end its service support for IE11 and the legacy Edge starting next year.

It should be emphasized that the end of support is that Microsoft’s own service does not support access to these old browsers, and it is not that these browsers end support and cannot be used.

Microsoft said that the new browser standard brings better performance and experience to productivity tools and services, so customers also need to migrate to a new version of the browser.

According to Microsoft’s schedule, the company will cease service from November 30, 2020, and the Microsoft Teams’ instant messaging tool will stop supporting the IE11 browser.

From March 9, 2021, Microsoft Edge’s classic browser will stop supporting, and Microsoft 365 will stop supporting the IE11 browser from August 17, 2021.

Given that IE11 itself is also the latest version of the IE browser, the discontinuation of support for the IE browser means that all these services of Microsoft have terminated the access of the IE browser.

Microsoft said that if users still use these old browsers to access Microsoft services, there may be service degradation issues due to compatibility issues.

And some services may cause customers to be unable to connect due to unsupported reasons, so customers must upgrade to the latest version of the browser before the specified date.
