Microsoft: New Bing search service has exceeded 100 million daily active users

Yusuf Mehdi, the Vice President of Microsoft’s Modern Life, Search, and Devices division has stated that after being online for a month, the current daily active users of Bing search service have exceeded 100 million.

This growth is naturally related to the recent integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology with the new version of the Bing search service. According to Microsoft’s statistical data, currently, about one-third of the daily active users are using Bing search service for the first time, and even the daily active users of the mobile app have increased by more than 6 times.

Yusuf Mehdi explained that the new version of Bing search service combines search with chat interaction mode, generating more “content” and creating a very different user experience, which has greatly increased the usage of the new version of Bing search service and Microsoft Edge browser.

On the other hand, the new Prometheus AI model makes Bing search results more accurate, allowing the new service to attract more users.

According to Microsoft’s data, the new version of Bing search service has accumulated more than 45 million interactive conversations. About one-third of the daily active users ask questions through chat, with at least three conversations per interaction. Additionally, 15% of these conversations result in new interactive content.
