iPhone 12 mini uses MagSafe to charge up to 12W of peak power delivery

The iPhone 12 series all use Apple’s latest A14 bionic chip, and these devices all support 5G networks, so the difference is not big except for size and camera.

But even so, there are some differences in some features, for example, Apple stated in the latest support document that the iPhone 12 mini wireless charging power is different.

Other versions of the iPhone 12 series use Apple MagSafe magnetic wireless chargers. The maximum charging power is 15W but the iPhone 12 mini is 12W.

Apple simply explained this problem in the support document but did not explain in detail why the charging power is different when the configuration is almost the same.

Apple writes:

“The MagSafe Charger is designed to quickly and safely wirelessly charge your iPhone 12. The system intelligently adapts to conditions in order to optimize charging iPhone 12 at up to 15W of peak power delivery for faster wireless charging. The actual power delivered to the iPhone will vary depending on the wattage of the power adapter and system conditions. For iPhone 12 mini, the MagSafe Charger delivers up to 12W of peak power delivery.

Of course, the iPhone 12 mini has excellent configuration and relatively low price, so the wireless charging power of 12W should not be a big problem for users.
